Educating the Confused – Orly, the SSA and OEO

Orly has again failed to properly parse the English language when she proudly displays a letter from the Social Security Administration informing her that the records requested fall under the Office of Earnings Operations and that the request has been forwarded to said office.

The letter that was sent around February 5th, 2014 apparently asks for the SS-5 records for Harry Bounel and thus the response, by the wrong department, that the records fall under a different organization has caused Orly much excitement.

She “argues’ that the documents were in fact sent to the OEO and provides for a scan of several certified mail receipts. Only one of them matches the dates and is addressed to “Social Security Administration, 6406 Security Blvd, Baltimore MD 21236.

Mailed in FOIA requests are either to be sent to

Social Security Administration
Office of Privacy and Disclosure
617 Altmeyer Building
6401 Security Boulevard
Baltimore, Maryland 21235

and for a SS-5 belonging to a deceased person by sending Form SSA-771 to

Social Security Administration
OEO FOIA Workgroup
300 N. Greene Street
P.O. Box 33022
Baltimore, Maryland 21290-3022

Why can these people not follow simple instructions?

Initially, it was speculated that Orly was being punked because the letter shows a ‘social security administration” stamp and no name, but it seems that the SSA uses such a response when it suspects the involvement of for example Sovereign Citizens, who are infamous for harassing social security administration officials when they deny their claims.

The envelope Orly has posted shows indeed the 6401 Security Boulevard address which is for general FOIA inquiries, while SS-5 FOIA requests are to be sent to the OEO FOIA Workgroup.
